LPG cylinder installations are becoming increasingly popular among builders. One of the available options is the two-cylinder system. By combining two gas cylinders into one installation, it is possible to supply more gas to the installation and consumers. Such a multi-cylinder installation can be equipped with an automatic or manual switch.
Advantages and accessories
Cylinder installation with automatic changeover switch:
- Gas is taken alternately from both sides and cylinder changes are possible without interrupting operation.
- Safety circuit: an integrated safety device prevents gas flow during cylinder change.
- Optional: version with electronic indicator (run/reserve) with display (green/red).
Scope of delivery
- high-pressure hoses
- sufficient number of tubes and adapters, screw connections, fastening elements and mounting rail
- switch
- low-pressure regulator with PRV pressure relief valve with breathing hole
- test kit enabling a leak check of the LPG system without removing the pressure regulator
- outlet connection ½" thread left or right
Assembly
Before installation, check that none of the components have been damaged during transport. The installation itself should be carried out by qualified persons in accordance with the instructions.
Installation sequence for two-cylinder system:
- Connect the high-pressure hoses on the working side and the reserve side between the connection at the AUV or MUV inlet or the double shut-off block and the valve on the gas cylinder.
Leak check
After installation and before commissioning, it is necessary to carry out a leak check. For this purpose, it is necessary to:
- close all shut-off fittings on the consumer unit
- slowly open the gas consumption valve on the tank or the valves on the gas cylinder
- spray all joints with a foaming agent
- check for leaks by observing that no bubbles form in the foaming agent.
Immediately after the leak check, the installation is ready for use.
Maintenance
A correctly installed and properly used installation requires no maintenance.
Basic errors that may occur during use and remedial measures can be found in the instructions. However, if these do not lead to a proper start-up again and no error has occurred, the product should be sent to the manufacturer for inspection. Unauthorised persons should not carry out any repairs themselves.
