12 mm shut-off valve with push-fit connections - straight push-in fitting with tap for motorhome and caravan water systems
- Straight push-in fitting with a tap for pipe with a 12 mm outside diameter. It lets you shut off one section of the water system in a motorhome, caravan or boat without draining the whole system.
This valve joins two lengths of pipe with a 12 mm outside diameter and lets you stop the water flow between them. Both ends have push-in sockets: push the pipe in as far as it goes and it is held and sealed straight away, with no tools and no threads. The blue lever opens and closes the flow, so you can disconnect the section behind the valve without draining the whole water system of your motorhome, caravan or boat.

Key features
- Straight valve with two 12 mm push-in sockets
- Push the pipe in as far as it goes, no tools, glue or threads
- Opened and closed with a lever
- Working pressure: 11 bar at 1 °C, 7 bar at 20 °C and 65 °C
- White plastic body, orange release collets
How the push-in fitting works
Inside each socket there is a toothed collet and an O-ring. When the pipe is pushed in fully, the teeth hold it and the O-ring seals the joint. To remove the pipe, press the orange release collet against the body and pull the pipe out. Take the pressure off the system before fitting or removing: switch off the pump and open a tap.
Where it is useful
- Shutting off the water heater for winter or for repairs
- Separating the line to an outdoor shower or a tap in the motorhome garage
- Closing the supply to one outlet without switching off the whole system
- Service valve in front of a water filter or pump
Fitting step by step
- Switch off the water pump and release the pressure in the system.
- Cut the pipe square, ideally with a pipe cutter, and remove any burrs.
- Check that the pipe end is not scratched or oval, as this can cause leaks.
- Push the pipe into the socket as far as it goes and pull gently to check that it is locked.
- Close the valve, switch on the pump and check both joints for leaks.
Things to check
- The valve fits pipe with a 12 mm outside diameter. Measure your pipe with a caliper before ordering.
- A push-in socket usually does not hold soft hose without a pipe insert reliably. Check what kind of pipe your system uses.
- Do not exceed the pressures in the table, especially with hot water.
- Fit the valve where the lever stays accessible, for example behind a service flap or in a cupboard.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need tools to fit it?
No. All you need is a straight, clean cut on the pipe, which you push into the socket as far as it goes.
Can I remove it and use it again?
Yes. Press the release collet and the pipe comes out. Before refitting, check that the pipe end is not scratched.
Is it suitable for hot water?
Yes, at 65 °C the working pressure is up to 7 bar.
Does it fit 10 mm or 1/2 inch pipe?
No. The sockets are for pipe with a 12 mm outside diameter.
