The Brunner Prima is a folding double step that makes it easier to get into a caravan, campervan or van. Two treads split the height of the door sill into two shorter steps, so getting in and out is more comfortable and safer, even with a shopping bag in your hand. What a double step is for

The entry door of many caravans and campervans sits so high that getting in without a step takes a big stride. The Prima double step splits that height into two lower steps. Children, older people and anyone carrying luggage, water or shopping will notice the difference.

The step is useful at the campsite, at a parking stop and at home when you wash the vehicle, clean the roof from the doorway or do small maintenance jobs on the bodywork. You can also use it to reach higher storage lockers.

Setting up and folding

1. Take the step out of storage and unfold it fully until the legs rest firmly on the ground.
2. Place it on a level, firm surface as close to the door sill as possible.
3. Before stepping on, check that it stands steady and does not wobble.
4. After use, fold it flat and put it away before you drive off.

How to choose a step for your vehicle

Before buying, measure the distance from the ground to the door sill. If it is large, a 43 cm double step lets you get in with two steps. If the sill is low, a single step is enough. If you have little storage space in the vehicle, check the folded size. The Prima is only 7 cm thick when folded.

Safe use

• Do not exceed the 150 kg load.
• On soft ground, sand or grass the legs can sink, so look for a firm, level spot.
• Place your foot in the middle of the tread, not on its edge.
• Take extra care in rain, ice and snow.
• Do not move the step while someone is standing on it.

Care

Wipe the galvanised steel with a damp cloth and a mild cleaner. Remove mud and sand with a soft brush, especially where the legs join the treads. Dry a wet step before folding and storing it. This keeps it in good condition and easy to unfold.
