The GasBank quick release gas coupling (code GB-Z-01) joins two lengths of rubber gas hose with 8 mm inner diameter. It lets you disconnect a BBQ, heater or other gas appliance from the bottle quickly, without undoing any fittings.
Design
- two brass parts: plug and socket
- both parts have barbed nozzles for 8 mm hose
- the socket has a knurled collar and an O-ring seal
- hose-to-hose connection, no threads
Use
- push the plug into the socket until it locks
- to disconnect, slide back the knurled collar and pull out the plug
- for propane-butane gas, e.g. BBQ, patio heater, camping stove
- close the bottle valve before disconnecting; the coupling is not a shut-off valve
Fitting
- push the nozzles fully into gas hose with 8 mm inner diameter
- secure each hose end with a hose clamp
- check for leaks after fitting and at every connection, e.g. with soapy water
