LPG cylinder installations are becoming increasingly popular among builders. One of the available options is the two-cylinder system. By combining two gas cylinders into one installation, it is possible to supply more gas to the installation and consumers. Such a multi-cylinder installation can be equipped with an automatic or manual switch.
Advantages and accessories
Cylinder installation with automatic changeover switch:
- Gas is taken alternately from both sides and cylinder changes are possible without interrupting operation.
- Safety circuit: an integrated safety device prevents gas flow during cylinder change.
- Optional: version with electronic indicator (run/reserve) with display (green/red).
Design
The example is a four-cylinder system with automatic changeover switch, type 0225 AUV:
- pressure regulator,
- automatic changeover switch,
- short pipe connection
- T-piece,
- long branch
- WL elbow with indentation ring,
- High-pressure hose,
- assembly rail
Assembly
Before assembly, check that none of the components have been damaged or destroyed during transport. Importantly, the assembly itself should only be carried out by staff of a specialist company who are qualified to do such work. When doing so, it is essential to follow the instructions in the manual.
Assembly sequence
- screw the output stub of the AUV or MUV or the double shut-off block to the input stub of the pressure reducer,
- mount the pressure reducer with automatic changeover switch on the rail using screws and washers
- fix the pipe brackets and mounting rail vertically on the wall
After installation, a leak test must be carried out, after which the installation is ready for use.
Operation
Importantly, it must be remembered that the cylinder must be in an upright position when drawing gas. The entire installation should be used as intended. An unintended use is one which goes beyond the intended use, viz:
- the use of other media or pressure values,
- use of gases in the liquid phase
- installation contrary to the direction of flow,
- use of incompatible hoses,
- changes to the product or parts thereof.
Maintenance
A correctly installed and properly used installation requires no maintenance.
