The Separett Villa is a waterless urine-diverting toilet that has proven itself for more than 20 years in homes, holiday cottages and buildings without sewer connection. Urine is separated from solid waste and drained through a pipe, while solids go into a 23 l container. A quiet 12 V fan continuously extracts air to the outside, so the bathroom stays odour-free. The toilet runs on 230 V mains (adapter included) or on a 12 V battery or solar system.

How the Villa works
Urine runs through the front of the bowl into the Ø32 mm outlet and on to a greywater system, an infiltration unit or a sealed tank. Solids and toilet paper go into the container lined with a compostable bag. The fan extracts air from the toilet through a Ø75 mm pipe, so the waste dries out and odours stay outside the room. There is no need to stir the contents or add sawdust - extra material fills the container faster and can contaminate the fan.

Installing ventilation and urine drain
- place the toilet against a wall and fix it to the floor, the wall or both
- the Ø75 mm ventilation pipe can be up to 6 m long with up to three 90° elbows
- exhaust air can go out through a wall, floor or roof
- for urine runs longer than 2 m switch to a pipe with at least 38 mm inner diameter
- keep a constant fall of about 2 cm per 1 m and avoid air pockets
- insulate outdoor pipes if you use the toilet in winter
- do not place joints near sockets or electrical appliances
Emptying and solid waste
- close the container with the lid and carry it out with the bag
- the waste can be composted - at least 6, preferably 12 months
- plan about 110 l of compost volume per person and two bins in rotation
- the compost bin needs a sealed bottom, a lid and protected ventilation
- always follow local waste regulations
Daily use and care
- always sit down and sit a little further back than usual
- put toilet paper into the solids container
- you can pour a cup of water into the urine bowl after use
- a Bio-Drain Cleaner tablet in the urine bowl helps keep the drain clean
- clean with a mild cleaner and a soft cloth - the surface is high-gloss PP
- never put burning or smouldering objects into the toilet

Questions and answers
Does the Villa need water or a sewer?
No. You only need a urine drain and a ventilation pipe to the outside.
How often is the container emptied?
In a holiday cottage with 4-5 people usually every 4-6 weeks.
Can I run the toilet from a battery?
Yes, the toilet runs on 12 V. Battery and battery cables are not included - a matching 12 V cable is available in our shop.
Do I need to add sawdust?
No. The fan removes odours and dries the waste, and sawdust can contaminate the fan.
Does it work in an unheated cottage?
Yes, the Villa has no room temperature requirements. Insulate outdoor urine pipes for winter use.
