Thetford Separation Toilet Waste Bags line the solid waste container of a separation toilet. With them you do not have to clean the container every time you empty it: you close the full bag, throw it away and fit a new one. One roll holds 20 black bags measuring 50 x 70 cm, made from post-consumer recycled plastic. Thetford developed them together with the S220 and S260 separation toilets and the SK220 and SK260 conversion kits.

How to use the bags in a separation toilet
- Take the solid waste container out of the toilet and pull a bag over it, folding the edges outwards.
- Fix the bag with the container retainer so it stays in place during use.
- Add a layer of drying agent to the bottom to absorb moisture and reduce odour.
- After each use add a small amount of drying agent.
- When the container is about two thirds full, close the bag and lift it out.
- Put the closed bag in general household waste, where local rules allow it.
Practical tips
- Do not overfill the bag, so it closes tightly and cleanly.
- A drying agent keeps the waste drier, easier to handle and less smelly.
- Urine goes to a separate tank that you empty into any regular toilet.
- The bags are not compostable, do not put them on a compost heap or leave them outdoors.
- Take a spare roll on longer trips, it takes up very little space.
