Votronic StandBy-Charger Pro 3063 - 12 V 8 A starter battery maintenance charger, for LiFePO4, AGM and gel
- Votronic StandBy-Charger Pro 3063: recharges the starter battery from the leisure battery, 12 V, up to 8 A. Adjustable charge voltage 12.5-14.5 V and cut-off threshold 12-14 V, so it also suits LiFePO4. EN and DIS inputs, 92 g.
The Votronic StandBy-Charger Pro (no. 3063) automatically recharges and maintains the starter battery in vehicles with two battery circuits, for example a motorhome. It is connected between the leisure battery and the starter battery. When the leisure battery is charged by a mains charger, solar panels or another source, the StandBy-Charger Pro charges the starter battery with up to 8 A to the set voltage.

What it is for
- the radio and the vehicle control systems draw power from the starter battery, including every time a door is opened
- the StandBy-Charger Pro replaces this energy from the leisure battery, without changing the existing wiring
- an adjustable cut-off threshold on the input protects the leisure battery from deep discharge
- this also makes it suitable for a LiFePO4 leisure battery, which has a higher resting voltage than a starter battery
- simpler model without adjustment, for lead batteries only: Votronic StandBy-Charger 3 A, 12 V

Features
- IU charging characteristic
- end-of-charge voltage adjustable from 12.5 to 14.5 V (UOUT potentiometer)
- input cut-off threshold adjustable from 12 to 14 V (UINLO potentiometer)
- for gel, AGM, lead-acid and LiFePO4 batteries on both input and output
- charging current up to 8 A
- passive cooling without a fan, with overheating shutdown
- two independent control inputs: EN (enable) and DIS (disable)
- 2 LEDs show the operating status
Installation and settings
- fit the unit as close as possible to the battery being charged, protected from moisture; any mounting position
- cables 1-4 mm² on the input and 0.75-4 mm² on the output, fused near the battery (15 A on the input, 10 A on the output)
- for permanent operation a bridge from IN+ to EN is enough; a switched 12 V signal can also be applied to EN
- the alternator D+ signal connected to DIS switches the charger off while driving
- set the output voltage with a meter before connecting the output battery
- for use with two 12 V batteries only; not suitable for 24 V systems
- LiFePO4 batteries only as complete batteries with integrated BMS, balancing and protection circuit
- read the manufacturer instructions and safety rules before installation

Questions and answers
Does the StandBy-Charger Pro work with a LiFePO4 leisure battery?
Yes. The adjustable 12-14 V input cut-off threshold stops charging before the leisure battery is drained.
How do I switch charging off while driving?
Connect the alternator D+ signal to the DIS terminal. When the alternator is charging, the unit switches off.
Can I use it in a 24 V system?
No. The unit is designed for two 12 V batteries only.
What current does it charge the starter battery with?
Up to 8 A, to the voltage set with the UOUT potentiometer between 12.5 and 14.5 V.
