The level indicator of a cassette toilet tells you when the cassette needs emptying. When the float arm in the tank gets stuck, cracks or loses its magnet, the indicator stops working and you only find out the cassette is full when you flush. This original Thetford float arm with part number 200971 is a spare part for the cassettes of C220 series toilets. The kit includes the arm with float, the magnet and a grey cap with seals that closes the opening in the cassette. The part fits both versions of the C220 cassette, standard and outside vent.

How the float arm works

The float rises with the waste level in the cassette and turns the arm. The arm carries a magnet whose position is read by the level indicator in the toilet. This way the panel shows you when the cassette is nearly full and needs emptying. If the float cannot move freely or the magnet is damaged, the indicator may show the wrong level.

Which toilets it fits

The float arm fits the cassettes of Thetford C220 series cassette toilets. This series includes the models C223-S, C223-CS, C223-CW, C224-CW and C222-SWE, among others. It fits both the standard cassette with automatic vent and the cassette with outside vent. The part is not meant for cassettes of other series such as C200, C250, C260, C400 and C500. When to replace the float arm
