Brunner Podium L is a single entry step that you place in front of the door of a caravan, campervan or van. It splits a high door sill into two shorter steps, so getting in and out is easier for children, older people and anyone carrying bags or a water container. What an entry step is for

The door of many caravans and campervans sits so high that the first step from the ground means lifting your leg a long way. The built-in vehicle step is not always enough, especially when the vehicle stands on levelling ramps or on uneven ground. The free-standing Podium L adds an intermediate 23 cm, so the climb is split into shorter, more comfortable steps.

The step is useful away from the door too. At the campsite you can stand on it to reach the awning, the roof rack or a window that needs cleaning. The large 50 x 34 cm surface gives room for your whole foot, and the low weight means you can move the step quickly to wherever you need it.

HD polyethylene needs no paint and no rust protection. The step can stay on grass, gravel or paving for your whole stay, and when you get home a rinse with water is enough.

Placing and storing

1. Choose a level, firm spot below the door. On soft ground, place the step so that all edges rest on the surface.
2. Set the step with its long side parallel to the door sill, close to the vehicle but far enough away that the door opens freely.
3. Check that the step does not rock. Only then put your full weight on it.
4. Before you drive off, put the step in the storage locker. Several Podium L steps can be stacked to save space.

How to choose a step for your vehicle

Measure the distance from the ground to the door sill or to the built-in vehicle step. If the gap is too large for one comfortable step, a single 23 cm step is usually enough. For very high doors, for example on larger motorhomes, a double step can be more comfortable. If you want a flat step that takes up little room in a locker, look at the folding Rialto. If the lowest weight matters most and 120 kg is enough, the Gamut step is an alternative.

Safe use

• do not exceed the 150 kg load capacity
• place the step on level, stable ground
• stand in the middle of the tread, not on the edge
• in winter, clear snow and ice from the tread
• do not use the step to support a jack or the vehicle

Care

Remove dirt and sand from the tread with a brush and water with a little mild detergent. No preservatives are needed, because HD polyethylene does not rust. Let the step dry before you stow it, so you do not carry moisture into the vehicle.
