Ball Valve with 1/2" Ring Nut and 13 mm Hose Barb - Shut-Off Tap with Gasket for Motorhomes and Caravans
- Ball valve with a 13 mm hose barb and a 1/2" threaded connection with ring nut and gasket. You shut off the water with a quarter turn of the lever. For motorhomes, caravans and boats.
This ball valve connects a hose to a threaded part. On one side it has a barbed end for hose with a 13 mm inner diameter, on the other a 1/2" threaded connection with a ring nut and gasket. You mount it directly on a tank, pump or any other part with a 1/2" thread and get a tap to shut off the water at the same time.

Thread on one side, hose on the other
- barbed end for hose with a 13 mm inner diameter
- 1/2" threaded connection with ring nut
- gasket included
- ball valve, opened and closed with a 90° turn of the lever
- green lever, position visible at a glance
- lightweight plastic body
One part replaces two here: a thread to hose adapter and a separate valve. Fewer joints mean fewer places where water can leak.
How a ball valve works
Inside the valve body there is a ball with a bore. When the lever is in line with the valve, the bore lines up with the channel and water flows freely. Turning the lever by 90° sets the ball across the channel and shuts off the flow completely. You close the valve with one movement and can see at a glance from the lever whether it is open or closed.
Where it works well
- drain of a fresh or grey water tank with a 1/2" outlet
- connecting a 13 mm hose to a pump, filter or manifold with a 1/2" thread
- shutting off water at an outdoor tap or shower in a motorhome
- water systems on boats and in holiday cabins
Installation
- Check that the connection you mount the valve on has a 1/2" thread.
- Insert the gasket and tighten the nut by hand, then snug it up slightly. Overtightening can damage a plastic thread.
- Push a hose with a 13 mm inner diameter over the whole length of the barbed end.
- Secure the hose with a hose clamp.
- Fill the system and check for leaks with the valve open and closed.
Choosing the version
This model has a 1/2" thread and a 13 mm hose barb. If your connection has a 3/4" thread, choose the 3/4" version with the same 13 mm barb. To fit a valve in the middle of a hose without any thread, pick the 2-way valve with two hose barbs.

Gasket included
The gasket under the ring nut seals the threaded joint without tape or paste. If it starts to let water through after years of use, simply replace it with a new one of the same size.

Frequently asked questions
Which hose does this valve fit?
Hose with an inner diameter of 13 mm. Push the hose over the barbed end and secure it with a hose clamp.
Do I need PTFE tape on the thread?
No. The gasket under the ring nut seals the joint.
How do I know if the valve is closed?
From the lever position. When the lever is in line with the valve, water flows. When it is across the valve, the flow is shut off.
My connection is 3/4". What should I choose?
Choose the same valve type in the version with a 3/4" ring nut and a 13 mm hose barb.
