The Separett Privy 500 converts an existing outhouse or garden toilet into a urine-diverting toilet. The inset separates urine from solids, which clearly reduces odours and speeds up decomposition, making waste handling much easier. This version comes with an insulated EPS seat with lid that does not feel cold. The inset is made of high-gloss polypropylene in grey.

How the Privy works
You fit the inset into the outhouse bench. Urine runs through the front of the bowl into the Ø32 mm outlet and through the hose to a container, an infiltration unit or into the ground where regulations allow. Solids fall into a container below the inset. As they stay dry, they decompose faster and smell less. You can line the container with a Separett compostable bag and keep the drain clean with a Bio-Drain Cleaner tablet.

Installation
- trace the opening from the template onto the bench and cut it out
- insert the inset and screw it down with the supplied screws
- connect the Ø32 mm urine hose and run it with a constant fall, without traps
- place a solids container below the inset; when fitting directly over a bucket, its top diameter must be 36 cm
- protect the urine drain from freezing in frosty periods
