Brunner Rialto folding step for campervans, caravans and home - plastic, 150 kg, 23 cm, 4.5 cm folded

Brunner Rialto is a compact folding step that makes it easier to get into a caravan, campervan or van, and at home it helps you reach higher cupboards. Unfolded it is 23 cm high with a 45 x 30 cm footprint, and folded it becomes a flat 45 x 38.5 x 4.5 cm package that fits in a cupboard, under a bed or in a narrow vehicle locker. It is made of tough plastic that does not rust. The manufacturer states a load capacity of 150 kg, and the step weighs 2.3 kg. The surface has an anti-slip tread that gives your foot secure support.

What a folding step is for

The door of many caravans and campervans sits high above the ground, and the built-in vehicle step is not always enough, especially on an uneven pitch or when the vehicle stands on levelling ramps. The Rialto adds an intermediate 23 cm, so the climb is split into shorter, more comfortable steps. The 45 cm wide surface lets you stand securely even with a bag in your hand.

The biggest advantage of this model is its folded thickness of only 4.5 cm. Where an ordinary step fills a whole crate in the locker, you can slide the Rialto into a gap behind a seat, under a bed or into a cupboard. That makes it a good choice for smaller campervans and vans with little storage space.

The step is useful away from travel too. At home, in the garage or in the garden it helps you reach higher shelves, hang a light or clean a window. At 2.3 kg it is easy to move from place to place.

Unfolding and folding

1. Take out the folded step and place it on level, firm ground.
2. Unfold the legs into the working position. No tools are needed.
3. Check that the step is fully unfolded and stands firmly before you step on it.
4. After use, fold the step flat and put it back in the cupboard or vehicle locker.

How to choose a step for your vehicle

Measure the distance from the ground to the door sill or to the built-in vehicle step. If it is too much for one comfortable step, a single 23 cm step is usually enough. Choose the Rialto when flat storage matters. If locker space is not a problem, look at the fixed Podium L with the same load capacity or the lighter Gamut. For very high doors, a double step is more comfortable.

Safe use

• do not exceed the 150 kg load capacity
• make sure the step is fully unfolded before you stand on it
• place the step on level, stable ground
• stand in the middle of the tread, not on the edge
• watch your fingers when folding and unfolding

Care

Clean the step with water, a mild detergent and a soft brush. Remove sand and small stones around the hinges at the same time, so the step keeps folding smoothly. Dry the folded step before storing it so you do not bring moisture into the locker.
