FAP grey water drain valve 1 1/2" (DN40) with 60 cm rod - flanged, no thread, for motorhome and caravan
- FAP 1 1/2" (DN40) grey water drain valve with 60 cm rod for motorhomes and caravans. Flanged connection without thread, the VAL121 flange is required and sold separately.
FAP grey water drain valve 1 1/2" with 60 cm rod
The FAP 1 1/2" (DN40) drain valve empties the grey water tank of a motorhome, caravan or van. The 60 cm control rod with handle lets you open and close the valve from an easy-to-reach spot, even when the valve itself sits deep under the floor or behind the tank.
The valve has no thread. It connects to the system through a flange bolted to the valve body, so choose the right flange for your tank or pipe when you order.
A VAL121 flange is required for installation - sold separately. See the VAL121 flange with 1 1/4" internal thread.

Connection
The valve has a flanged connection with no thread. The set contains the valve with rod and handle. Flanges, gaskets and fasteners are bought separately, depending on how the valve is connected to the tank and the outlet.
- VAL121 female flange with 1 1/4" internal thread - bolt it to the valve and screw in a fitting with 1 1/4" external thread. Fixing screw spacing 65 mm.
- VAL151 female flange - unthreaded, 48 mm inner and 60 mm outer diameter.
- VAL152 male flange for 1 1/2" valves.
- VAL156 flat flange for 1 1/2" valves.
- VAL155 flange gasket for 1.5" valves - seals the flange against the valve body.
Typical uses
- replacing an old, leaking or jammed 1 1/2" grey water valve
- an underfloor tank where the valve is hard to reach - the 60 cm rod brings the handle to a convenient place
- a van or caravan build with a new outlet line from the grey water tank
- replacing a valve with a shorter rod by one that suits the layout better
Installation step by step
- Drain the tank and remove the old valve together with its flanges.
- Check the connection on the tank and outlet: thread, smooth pipe or flat flange. Choose the flange accordingly, e.g. VAL121 for a 1 1/4" threaded connection.
- Put the flange gasket between the flange and the valve body and tighten the screws evenly, crosswise.
- Route the control rod to the operating point and fix the handle so it moves freely.
- Fill the tank with a little water, open and close the valve a few times and check all joints for leaks.
Use and care
Empty the grey water tank regularly and rinse it with clean water before soap and food residue hardens. This keeps the valve easy to operate and helps the flange gasket stay tight for longer. Before winter, drain all water from the system and leave the valve open so that freezing water cannot damage the body. If a joint starts to leak, first check the tightness of the flange screws and the condition of the VAL155 gasket.

Questions and answers
Does the valve have a 1 1/2" internal thread?
No. The valve has no thread, it has a flanged connection. For a threaded joint, bolt the VAL121 flange with 1 1/4" internal thread to it.
Is a flange included?
No. The set contains the valve with 60 cm rod and handle. The VAL121 flange and VAL155 flange gasket are sold separately.
Which flange should I choose?
For a fitting with 1 1/4" external thread - VAL121. For a smooth pipe with 48 mm outer diameter - VAL151 female flange. For mounting directly on the tank - VAL156 flat flange.
Can I shorten the 60 cm rod?
Choose the rod length to suit your layout before buying. If you need a longer one, see the VAL157 handle with 112 cm rod.
Is there a version with a bayonet outlet?
Yes, the FAP 1 1/2" valve with bayonet connection, cap and gasket VAL150.
