The Fiamma plate 98655-037 is a genuine spare part for the lead bar of F45L and F45Ti L awnings with a length of 450-550 cm and of ZIP F45L and ZIP F45Ti L 400-450 awnings. On these awnings the support legs are stored inside the lead bar, the front profile that closes the case when the awning is rolled up. The plate is screwed into the profile and holds the folded leg in place. If the plate cracks, falls out or wears, the leg can slide in the profile and rattle while driving, and it is harder to take out when you open the awning. Replacing it takes a few minutes and you do not need to remove the awning from the vehicle.

How it works

On F45L and F45Ti L awnings the support legs do not hang loose under the case, they are stored inside the lead bar profile. The retainer plate sits in this profile where the folded leg ends and holds it in the travel position. This stops the leg from sliding in the profile while driving. When you open the awning, you pull the leg out of the profile, and after rolling it up you slide it back in until it rests against the plate.

When to replace it

• the plate is cracked, deformed or missing
• the folded leg slides in the lead bar or rattles while driving
• the leg does not stay in the lead bar after the awning is rolled up
• the screw no longer holds because the hole in the plate is worn
• you are replacing other lead bar parts and want to renew the plates at the same time

How to check it is the right part

First read the model and length of the awning on the rating label on the case. The plate 98655-037 is made for F45L and F45Ti L awnings with a length of 450-550 cm and for ZIP F45L and ZIP F45Ti L 400-450 awnings. On F45Ti L and ZIP F45Ti L awnings also check the serial number, because the part fits units from the serial numbers listed above. Fiamma uses different parts for F45s, F45Ti shorter than 450 cm and F65 awnings. If you have the old plate, compare it with the photo.

Step-by-step replacement

• Open the awning far enough to reach the lead bar profile and take the support leg out of the profile.
• Undo the screw of the old plate and remove it from the profile.
• Clean sand and pieces of broken plastic out of the profile.
• Fit the new plate in the same place and fix it with the screw. Do not overtighten it, so that the plastic is not damaged.
• Slide the leg into the profile and check that it is held firmly.
• Roll up the awning and check that the lead bar closes against the case along its full length.

Caring for the lead bar and legs

• Once a season rinse the lead bar profile with water to remove sand and leaves.
• Before rolling up the awning, push the legs all the way in until they rest against the plates.
• Do not roll up the awning when a leg is not seated in the profile, as the lead bar may not close against the case.
• If you replace the plate on one side, check the plate on the other side as well.
