The core is poplar plywood and both sides are covered with HPL laminate in the same colour. This means the board looks the same on both sides and can be used for fronts as well as for cabinet walls that are visible from two sides. The sheet has an area of approx. 2.98 m2 and weighs approx. 21 kg. The colour light oak is one of the new board colours for the 2027 season and forms a matching palette with the other new colours in this range.

Colour and surface
The light oak decor has a more pronounced, vertical grain than maple and a slightly greyish beige tone. It looks natural and modern and does not darken the interior. This decor hides small marks of everyday use well, so it works on cabinet fronts, in the kitchen and around the bed. It suits a Scandinavian style with white, greys and black.
Poplar plywood with HPL laminate
Poplar plywood is one of the lighter types of plywood, which is why it is often chosen for vehicle conversions where every kilogram counts. The cross-laminated veneer layers make the board stiff and help it hold screws well. HPL is a high-pressure laminate that forms a hard, smooth surface for everyday use. It is easy to wipe with a damp cloth, which matters in a motorhome kitchen and near the door, where furniture comes into contact with water, sand and mud. Laminate on both sides balances the board, so large parts are less likely to warp.
What the board is for
- carcasses and fronts of upper and lower cabinets
- kitchen units, sink and hob cabinet
- bed box and mattress frame
- wardrobe, shelves and storage
- partition walls and bathroom panelling
- covers for electrics and batteries
- furniture in caravans, vans and motorhomes
Format and handling
A full 122 x 244 cm sheet lets you cut several large parts from one board, for example a wardrobe side, a front and shelves. That means fewer joints and the same colour on all parts. The board weighs approx. 21 kg and is large, so a second person helps when carrying and cutting it. Store it flat on an even surface in a dry place so that it does not warp before you work on it.
Cutting and fitting
- cut with a fine-tooth saw blade made for laminated boards to avoid chipping
- put masking tape along the cutting line for extra protection of the laminate
- when drilling, place a piece of wood under the board for a clean exit hole
- leave the plywood edges visible or cover them with edge band or a profile
- join parts with corner profiles, angles or furniture connectors
- screw furniture to fixing points in the vehicle so it does not move while driving
How to combine colours
Light oak goes best with warm white matt and light grey, which calm the strong wood pattern. Matt black on a worktop or trims gives a strong, modern contrast.
Care
Clean the laminate with a soft, damp cloth and a little mild detergent. Do not use scouring powder, abrasive sponges or solvents, which can dull or scratch the surface. Protect exposed plywood edges from long contact with water, ideally by covering them with edge band or a profile.

Surface close-up
The close-up shows the clear, narrow oak grain running along the board. Plan the grain direction when cutting so that neighbouring fronts match.
