The Trelino Origin M is a robust composting (separation) toilet with a wooden lid that separates urine and solids without water, chemicals or electricity. The body and containers are made of PE, which resists acids and chemicals, and the lid of multi-layer untreated birch is held in place by magnets. The urine canister holds 5 l, the solids container 6.5 l, and the toilet weighs 5.8 kg. Size M is a good fit for van (including the Ford Nugget from model year 2014), motorhome, gazebo and boat. How a separation toilet works
The separator insert guides urine into the front canister, while solids and toilet paper go into the rear container lined with a bag. Separating the two and letting the solids dry out prevents unpleasant odours - so the toilet needs no flushing water and no chemicals. After each number two, cover the solids with one or two handfuls of litter. Litter supports drying and binds odours.

Where the Trelino Origin M fits
The manufacturer recommends size M for van (including the Ford Nugget from model year 2014), motorhome, gazebo and boat. The toilet can be used free-standing or permanently installed - mounting may require drilling into the body. Always make sure it stands firmly and cannot tip over. The wooden lid is only partly suitable for damp environments - it works best in dry or occasionally damp places.
Before you order

- Approximate emptying cycle according to the manufacturer: 1-2 days.
- Use the Origin series only in a sitting position - this applies to men too.
- Maximum load: 150 kg.
- Wood is a natural material - colour and grain of the lid may vary.
- A lid hinge is available as an upgrade - in that case allow 1-2 cm of space at the back.
Use and emptying
- Before first use, put a bag in the solids container and add two handfuls of litter.
- After a number two, cover solids and paper with a handful of litter; do not use moist toilet paper.
- Tie the full bag and put it in the household waste. Pour urine into a toilet connected to the sewer.
Cleaning and care
- For cleaning, the manufacturer recommends vinegar diluted with water (1 part vinegar to 7 parts water) or pH-neutral cleaners with effective microorganisms, such as Holy Shine.
- Rinse the urine canister with the solution after every emptying to prevent deposits and odours.
- Do not use chemical cleaners, solvents or abrasive sponges; the parts are not dishwasher-safe.
- You can treat the untreated birch lid with linseed oil, varnish it or paint it. If the toilet is not used for a longer time, leave the lid open.

Questions and answers
Does the toilet need water, chemicals or electricity?
No. The toilet separates urine and solids, and the solids dry under the litter. There is no flushing, no chemical cassette and no power supply.
How often do the containers need emptying?
The 5 l urine canister holds approx. 9-11 uses and the 6.5 l solids container approx. 6-8 uses. The manufacturer gives an approximate emptying cycle of 1-2 days; the urine canister is ideally emptied every 2-3 days.
What should I cover the solids with?
Ideally with composting toilet litter. The manufacturer also allows small animal litter, organic cat litter, coconut fibre, fine bark mulch, hemp or wood pellets.
Do I need a fan?
Optional. The manufacturer recommends the SOG® fan set for better ventilation.
Can the toilet be used standing up?
No. The Origin series is used only in a sitting position - this applies to men too, so that separation works properly.
