This Thetford cassette with part number 200978-06 is a complete waste-holding tank for C220 series cassette toilets, in the version made for installations with an outside vent. It holds 18 l and has wheels and a pull-out transport handle, so you do not have to carry it to the disposal point. It comes with the sliding cover, wheels and handle, ready to slide in where the old cassette was. The housing is Slate Grey (RAL 7015), the same colour as the original equipment of C220 toilets.

What makes the outside vent version different

Thetford makes the C220 cassette in two versions. The standard version has an automatic vent on top that equalises the pressure in the tank. In the outside vent version there is an outside vent connection in this place. With the Thetford Outside Vent kit for the C220 series fitted in the vehicle, odours from the tank are led through a tube to the outside of the vehicle via a cover in the service door, not into the washroom. The outside vent does not replace the toilet additive, you still need to add it before using the toilet.

Which toilets it fits

The cassette fits Thetford cassette toilets of the C220 series. This series includes the models C223-S, C223-CS, C223-CW, C224-CW and C222-SWE, among others. It does not fit the older C200, C2, C3 and C4 series or the C250, C260, C400 and C500, as they use different tanks. You will find the data badge with the model and serial number underneath the cassette and on the bottom of the cassette itself.

How to check which version you need

• Open the service door and check whether a vent tube runs through the door and there is a vent cover on the outside of the door. If so, your toilet has an outside vent.
• Compare the top of the old cassette with the photo and check whether it has an outside vent connection or an automatic vent.
• If you do not have an outside vent kit, choose the C220 cassette in the standard version.

What the cassette consists of

Emptying the cassette

• Close the blade in the toilet and take the cassette out through the service door.
• Pull out the transport handle and roll the cassette to the disposal point.
• Stand the cassette upright, turn the spout upwards and remove the cap.
• Point the spout down over the disposal opening.
• Press the vent button while pouring, so the contents flow out evenly without splashing.
• Rinse the tank with clean water and empty it once more.
• Put the cap back, turn the spout back into place and slide the cassette into the toilet.

Before use and care

• After each emptying add waste-holding tank fluid to the cassette in the amount given on its label.
• Do not wait until the cassette is full. Empty it when the indicator in the toilet tells you to.
• Now and then treat the blade seal with seal care spray so the blade moves easily and stays tight.
• Do not use harsh cleaners or solvents that can damage the plastic and the seals.
• Before a longer break empty and clean the cassette and leave the blade slightly open so the seal does not stick.

Good to know

• The cassette comes with the sliding cover, wheels and handle.
• The outside vent kit fitted in the vehicle (tube and cover in the service door) is not part of the cassette.
• Toilet fluid is not included.
• A second cassette is also useful as a spare for a longer stay without access to a disposal point.
