The VOTRONIC Tank Electrode 15-50 K (article no. 5545) is a capacitive level sender for fresh, grey and black water tanks in motorhomes, caravans and boats. Measurement is fully electronic, without floats or other moving parts, so the sender is insensitive to dirt and cannot jam. The insulated measuring rod forms a capacitor with the water, and a second stainless steel rod acts as the counter-pole. The sender meets the drinking water standard DIN 2001-2 and suits plastic and metal tanks (aluminium, steel, stainless steel) from 15 to 50 cm high. The tank height is set on a scale, which can also be done dry before installation.

Installation
- 38 mm hole in the tank or PG29 thread
- mounting from inside or outside the tank, on top; in fresh water tanks bottom mounting is also possible
- place the sender at the highest point, as close to the tank centre as possible
- shorten both rods so that 10-20 mm remain above the tank floor, then refit the insulating cap and check that it seals
- the seals go between the tank, the flange and the PG29 nut
- set the tank height on the Tank Height scale

- 3 wires: white - terminal 5 (sender supply, plus), green - terminal 4 (signal 0-2.2 V), brown - terminal 1 (minus)
- extension cable cross-section 0.5-1 mm²

- the sender is powered by the display only during measurement
- if the rods are heavily soiled, flush the tank; do not use sea water
