Carbest CozyWater 10C Combi - 10 l Hot Water Boiler, 12 V / 230 V

CozyWater 10C Combi pairs a 10 litre tank with two heating elements: 12 V / 200 W from the vehicle system and 230 V / 800 W from a campsite hook-up or charger. You set 25-75 °C on a separate control panel with a 5 m cable, not on a dial on the housing.

What it is for

CozyWater 10C heats domestic water in a camper, caravan or boat installation. The element in the insulated stainless steel 304 tank heats the water to the panel setpoint and switches off when it is reached. On 230 V the heat-up time is about 50 minutes, depending on the inlet water temperature.

Installation

1. You can mount the boiler horizontally or vertically. In a vertical position the connections must point downwards.
2. Fix the unit on a sufficiently load-bearing surface with suitable fasteners. Water in the tank moves while you drive, so the mounting point and fasteners must support at least 60 kg.
3. Switch the boiler on only after it is fully installed, connected to the water system and filled with water.

Water connection

The cold and hot water ports have a 1/2 inch male thread. Screw the supplied safety valve onto the cold water inlet and seal the joint with PTFE tape or another approved sealant.

Lead the valve drain hose outside so water released under overpressure does not flood the locker. Check regularly that the hose is not blocked or damaged.

After installation, check every joint for tightness. Flush the system thoroughly with clean water before first use.

12 V and 230 V electrical connection

Besides the 12 V cable (1.2 m) the boiler has a 230 V cable with a Schuko plug (also 1.2 m). Plug it only into a protective-contact socket fused at no more than 16 A; an extra residual-current device is recommended.

Work on the 230 V installation may only be carried out by a person with the proper qualifications. Do not run the boiler if the supply cable is damaged.

For 12 V: protect the positive cable with a 30 A fuse, use at least 6 mm2 at 30 A, and fit a switch plus a relay rated for at least 30 A in the positive line. Connect only to a stabilised 12 V DC vehicle system.

Operation with the panel

Make sure the boiler is filled with water and connected to 12 V or 230 V. After power is applied the panel lights up, runs an error check and goes to standby; the red status LED is on when voltage is present.

Switch the boiler on with the on/off button on the panel. Set 25-75 °C with the arrow keys. The heating symbol on the display shows when the element is working.

The panel keeps its settings even after a power cut. After two minutes without input the backlight dims. You set the timer and clock with the menu and timer buttons as described in the manual.

Errors are signalled with five short beeps and a code on the display. E2 means dry running, E3 a sensor fault, E4 overheating. For E4 disconnect power, let the unit cool and check that the tank is filled; have repairs done by a technician.

Safety

• Have the water and electrical installation done by a qualified technician, following the manual and applicable regulations.
• Fill the boiler completely with water before you switch the heating element on for the first time. Running dry damages the element.
• Do not cover the unit or add extra insulation - that can cause overheating.
• Check the water temperature before use. Hot water can scald, especially children and older people.
• When the vehicle is parked for a longer time, drain the boiler completely through the safety valve, even if you did not use it. Do not pour antifreeze into the tank.
• Work on the 230 V installation may only be carried out by a person with the proper qualifications.

Frost protection and care

When the vehicle stands unused for a longer time, drain the boiler through the safety valve, even if you did not switch it on. The cold water system can still fill the tank.

To limit automatic filling, you can fit hot-water-rated shut-off valves upstream of the cold and hot connections.

Do not pour antifreeze into the boiler.
