Carbest Adapter Cable Schuko to CEE 0.4 m, Schuko Plug to CEE Coupling, H07RN-F 3x2.5 mm² - Power Your Motorhome or Caravan from a Schuko Socket
- Short Carbest adapter cable, 40 cm long, with a Schuko plug and a blue 230 V CEE coupling. It lets you connect the CEE extension lead of your motorhome or caravan to an ordinary Schuko socket. H07RN-F rubber cable, 3x2.5 mm².
The Carbest adapter cable links the two kinds of 230 V hook-up you meet when travelling with a motorhome or caravan. At one end it has a Schuko plug that goes into an ordinary socket, like the ones at home, in a garage or at some campsites. At the other end it has a blue CEE coupling that takes the plug of your camping extension lead. This means you do not need a separate extension lead with a Schuko plug. One CEE lead and this short adapter are enough. The cable is 40 cm long, made of H07RN-F rubber cable with a 3x2.5 mm² cross-section, and fits into any storage locker.

What this adapter is for
Motorhomes and caravans have a CEE power inlet on the outside wall, and camping extension leads have CEE connectors at both ends. That is the standard at most European campsites, where the hook-up posts have blue CEE sockets. The problem starts when all you have is an ordinary Schuko socket: outside your house, in a garage, at a friend's place, on a private pitch, or at a campsite whose posts have household sockets. In that case you plug the Schuko plug of the adapter into the socket and connect the plug of your extension lead to the CEE coupling of the adapter. The other end of the lead goes into the CEE inlet of your vehicle, just like at any campsite.
Typical situations
- charging the leisure battery and pre-cooling the fridge before a trip, from a socket at home or in the garage
- powering the motorhome while parked at friends or family
- campsites and marinas with Schuko sockets in the hook-up posts instead of CEE
- power from a workshop or hall socket while you work on the vehicle
- keeping the vehicle frost-free in winter while it is parked at home, with a heater of moderate power
Why the cable is only 40 cm long
The adapter does not replace an extension lead. It only changes the type of connector at its start. The short cable means the connection does not load the socket with the weight of the CEE connector and does not hang stiffly from the wall. At the same time you do not add extra metres of cable to the circuit, which would cost voltage. All the length you need to reach the vehicle comes from your CEE extension lead. The adapter takes up very little space, so you can keep it in the locker permanently, next to the lead.
H07RN-F 3x2.5 mm² cable
The designation H07RN-F describes a flexible cable harmonised under European standards, rated 450/750 V, with rubber insulation and a polychloroprene sheath. This type of cable is designed for outdoor use and stays flexible at low temperatures. The marking 3x2.5 mm² means three copper cores with a cross-section of 2.5 mm²: line, neutral and the green and yellow protective earth. Many campsites in Europe require cables of this type and cross-section for connecting vehicles to the hook-up post.
What to watch for when it comes to load
Schuko plugs and sockets are rated for up to 16 A. The real limit, however, is set by the fuse or breaker of the circuit you are using. At home this is usually 10 A or 16 A, while campsites often have even lower limits, typically 6 A or 10 A. Before you switch on a kettle, a heater and a charger in the motorhome at the same time, add up their power. At 230 V a current of 10 A corresponds to about 2300 W, and 16 A to about 3600 W. If the breaker trips, spread the load over time or reduce the power of your appliances.
Connecting safely
- connect the extension lead to the vehicle first and plug the Schuko plug into the socket last
- when disconnecting, do it the other way round: unplug the Schuko plug from the socket first
- place the connection between the adapter and the lead so that it does not lie in a puddle or on wet grass
- use earthed sockets and circuits protected by a residual current device
- unwind a lead stored on a cable reel completely, because a coiled cable heats up under higher load
- do not chain several adapters together, use one adapter and one extension lead
- close the cover of the CEE coupling when the adapter is not in use
- check the cable and connectors before every use and replace a damaged adapter

Frequently asked questions
What do I plug the Schuko plug into?
Into an ordinary earthed socket, for example at home, in a garage or in a campsite post with Schuko sockets.
What goes into the CEE coupling of the adapter?
The CEE plug of your camping extension lead. The other end of the lead goes into the CEE inlet of your motorhome or caravan.
Does this adapter fit a CEE campsite post?
No. For a post with a blue CEE socket you need a CEE plug, which means an ordinary camping extension lead. This adapter is for Schuko sockets.
How many appliances can I run through the adapter?
As many as the socket fuse allows. The Schuko plug is rated for a maximum of 16 A, which is about 3600 W at 230 V.
Why is the cable so short?
The adapter only changes the connector at the start of the extension lead. The length to the vehicle comes from the CEE lead, and a short adapter is easy to store.
What kind of cable is it?
An H07RN-F rubber cable with three cores of 2.5 mm² each, including a protective earth.
