Carbest drawbar cover 86 x 60 cm, grey PVC - caravan and trailer hitch cover with fastening straps and storage bag

The Carbest drawbar cover is a grey PVC cover that you put over the front of the drawbar of a caravan or trailer when it is parked in a yard, at home or on a campsite. The material is weatherproof, so rain, snow, leaves and dust do not land directly on the hitch and the parts around it. The cover is 86 cm long and 60 cm wide and fits all common drawbars. Sturdy fastening straps hold it in place, and when you take it off, it goes into the bag that comes with it. It is a simple way to make sure the hitch is clean and ready to couple after the winter or a long stay.

Key features

• dimensions 86 x 60 cm
• material: weatherproof PVC
• colour grey
• sturdy fastening straps
• fits all common drawbars
• storage bag included
• for caravans and trailers

What it is for

The hitch and the front of the drawbar are exposed to rain, snow and dirt for the whole time the caravan is parked. Water collects in the corners of the coupling head, leaves and sand settle on greased parts, and in winter snow covers everything. The cover shields this area from the direct effects of the weather. When you come back to the caravan, you take the cover off and the hitch is dry and clean. The cover is useful both for winter storage and for shorter stays on a seasonal pitch or in front of your house.

What is in the set

• 1 grey PVC drawbar cover, 86 x 60 cm
• fastening straps to secure the cover to the drawbar
• 1 bag for storage and transport

When it is useful

• During winter storage of the caravan in a yard, on a driveway or in a car park.
• On a seasonal pitch, when the caravan stays in one place for many weeks.
• At home, when the caravan waits outdoors for the next trip.
• On a luggage trailer or another trailer with a similar drawbar.
• As protection of the hitch against dust and bird droppings under trees.

How to fit the cover

• Uncouple the caravan from the car and park it as described by its manufacturer.
• Take the cover out of the bag and spread it over the front of the drawbar.
• Pull the cover over the hitch so that it covers the coupling head and the parts around it.
• Pass the fastening straps under the drawbar and fasten them so the cover stays firmly in place in the wind.
• Before you leave, undo the straps, take off the cover, shake off the water and put it back into the bag.

What to keep in mind

• The cover measures 86 x 60 cm. If your drawbar has a large stabiliser coupling head or an extra anti-theft device, check that everything fits under the cover.
• Fasten the straps around fixed parts of the drawbar, not around electrical cables or the breakaway cable.
• In strong wind, check after a while that the straps are still tight.
• The cover protects against weather and dirt. It does not replace an anti-theft lock for the hitch.

Care and storage

PVC is easy to keep clean. Wash off dirt with water, a little mild cleaner and a soft sponge. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners. Let the cover dry before you fold it into the bag, because damp material stored for a long time can start to smell. Keep the cover away from sharp edges and heat sources. Thanks to the bag, the cover takes up little space in the car boot or in a caravan locker.
