Dometic PerfectView CAM 45W NAV is a colour reversing camera in white (catalogue number 9600000526). The compact aluminium housing keeps cable routing almost invisible, and the viewing angle is approx. 120° diagonal (approx. 80° horizontal and 65° vertical). A built-in microphone helps when manoeuvring, and separate IR LEDs support the image at night. A temperature-controlled heater helps keep the lens clearer in cold weather. Protection class IP69K, supply 12 V DC (operating range 11-16 V). The product pack includes a 15 m system cable, installation material and a manual. The pack also includes a NAV adapter for multimedia or navigation systems.

What it is for

CAM 45W NAV watches the area behind the vehicle when you manoeuvre or park. The approx. 120° diagonal angle covers a wide zone behind the rear wall.

The camera is intended primarily for vehicles. In practice it is fitted on motorhomes, camper vans and caravans when you need a permanent view of the rear.

Image and sound travel by cable to a colour monitor in the PAL standard. Normal or mirrored picture mode lets you match the view to how the monitor works.

Installation notes

1. Fit the camera bracket on the rear wall as described in the manual, at a height of at least approx. 2 m, on a rigid structure.
2. Route the 15 m system cable to the cab so it cannot chafe on sharp edges or foul moving parts.
3. Connect the camera to a monitor and to a 12 V DC supply as shown in the wiring diagram. Power consumption is approx. 1.2 W.
4. When testing circuits, use a diode test lamp or a voltmeter - filament test lamps can pull the voltage down.
5. After fitting, check the picture, microphone and night view with IR LEDs; set the lens angle to the vehicle vertical as described in the manual.

CAM 45W NAV versus other PerfectView cameras

CAM 45W NAV is a compact 120° camera supplied with a NAV adapter. The versions without the NAV adapter are CAM 45 / CAM 45W. If you need two lenses in one housing, PerfectView CAM44 is in the range.

Safe use

• A rear-view system is only an aid. It does not replace careful reversing or mirror checks.
• Operating temperature: -20 to +70°C.
• The housing is IP69K, but seal mounting holes only as the manual describes.
• Vibration resistance according to the manual: 6 g.
• Road-traffic rules still apply.

Care

Wipe the lens and housing with a soft, damp cloth without aggressive solvents. Keep connectors dry and clean. After washing the vehicle, check that dirt is not blocking the camera. For long idle periods, isolate the supply as described for your vehicle.
