GasBank Reducer G1/4" Male Thread to 8 mm Pipe with Compression Ring - for Underslung LPG Tanks
- GasBank reducer with a G1/4" male thread to an 8 mm copper or steel gas pipe, with nut and compression ring. It connects the outlet valve of an underslung LPG tank to the gas system.
The GasBank GB-ZP-A03 reducer connects the outlet valve of an underslung LPG tank with a 1/4" female thread to an 8 mm gas pipe. One end has a G1/4" male thread that screws into the valve, the other end is a compression connection for 8 mm pipe with nut and ring. With it, a rigid copper or steel pipe can run from the tank under the floor of a motorhome, caravan or food truck to the regulator and on to the gas system inside.

Key features
- G1/4" male thread for a valve with a 1/4" female thread
- compression connection for 8 mm gas pipe (RVS 8)
- suitable for copper or steel pipe
- body, nut and compression ring included
- mostly used on the outlet valve of an underslung tank
- price per piece
Where it is used
Underslung LPG tanks usually have a 1/4" female thread on the outlet valve. The reducer adapts this thread to an 8 mm pipe that carries the gas to the system.
It is useful when fitting a new tank and when replacing an old connection where the line from the tank is to be a rigid pipe.
8 mm is the most common gas pipe size in motorhomes and caravans, so standard RVS 8 fittings, elbows and tees can be used after the reducer.
Fitting
- close the tank valve and make sure there is no gas in the line
- seal the G1/4" thread with a sealant approved for gas systems and screw the reducer into the valve
- cut the pipe square and deburr it
- with soft copper pipe, insert a reinforcing sleeve into the pipe end
- slide the nut and then the compression ring onto the pipe
- push the pipe fully into the socket and tighten the nut, the ring clamps onto the pipe
- after fitting, check for leaks with leak detector spray or a tester
Installation and approval of the gas system in a vehicle should be carried out by a qualified gas fitter.

Questions and answers
Which pipe does the reducer fit?
An 8 mm outside diameter gas pipe, copper or steel. The connection is a compression fitting to the RVS 8 standard.
Are the compression ring and nut included?
Yes. The reducer consists of the threaded body, nut and compression ring, so no separate parts are needed to connect the pipe.
Which valve does it screw into?
A valve with a 1/4" female thread, most often the outlet valve of an underslung tank. Before ordering, check the thread type of the valve outlet in the tank documentation.
Does the pipe connection need extra sealant?
No. The pipe connection is sealed by the ring clamped by the nut. Sealant is used only on the thread that goes into the valve.
Can I reuse the compression ring?
No. Once tightened, the ring deforms onto the pipe. Use a new Ø8 mm ring for a new joint.
