GOK gas pressure regulator 30 mbar 0.8 kg/h RVS 8 x RVS 8 with PRV - low-pressure in-line regulator for motorhome and caravan gas pipes
- GOK EN61 low-pressure regulator for fitting in the gas pipe of a motorhome, caravan or boat. It delivers 30 mbar at a flow rate of 0.8 kg/h, has 8 mm pipe connections on both sides and a PRV pressure relief valve.
The GOK EN61 regulator reduces the pressure of liquefied gas to a constant 30 mbar, the value used by cookers, absorption fridges and heaters in motorhomes and caravans. It does not screw onto a cylinder valve. It has RVS 8 connections on both sides, i.e. compression fittings with a cutting ring for a pipe with an outside diameter of 8 mm, so you fit it directly in the supply line. The manufacturer designed it for connection to gas tanks permanently installed in the vehicle or for use in the supply line downstream of a medium-pressure regulator. The flow rate is 0.8 kg/h, the maximum admissible pressure is PS 16 bar, and the built-in PRV pressure relief valve protects the appliances from excessive pressure on the outlet side.

Key features
- outlet pressure 30 mbar
- flow rate 0.8 kg/h
- maximum admissible pressure PS 16 bar
- RVS 8 x RVS 8 connections for 8 mm pipe, straight flow path
- type M union nut and type D-MS cutting ring
- PRV pressure relief valve
- pressure gauge connection for system checks
- operating temperature -20 to +50 °C
What it is for
- For LPG tanks permanently installed in the vehicle, when the gas leaves the multivalve through a line and has to be reduced to 30 mbar.
- For fitting in the supply line downstream of a medium-pressure regulator, when the gas runs through the vehicle at a higher pressure and is reduced only near the appliances.
- For replacing an old regulator with 8 mm pipe connections with a new one with a PRV valve.
- For motorhomes, caravans, vans and boats with an LPG system supplied with the gas phase.
How the PRV valve works
PRV is an automatic pressure relief valve with limited flow built into the regulator. If excessive pressure builds up on the outlet side, for example due to high temperatures, the valve opens and releases the excess gas through the breather. When the pressure has dropped, it closes by itself. If the regulator is to work indoors, inside a housing or in any other place where escaping gas would be dangerous, a vent line leading outdoors must be connected to the breather. You will find the PRV marking on the rating plate of the regulator.
Installation
- The gas system should be installed by a qualified person in line with the national regulations for LPG systems.
- Fit the regulator in the direction of gas flow. Fitting it against the flow direction is not intended use.
- The regulator must not be fitted lower than the tank or cylinder valve, so that no re-liquefied gas can get inside. Hoses at the regulator inlet should slope down steadily towards the tank.
- When tightening the fittings, always hold the connection nozzle with a spanner. Do not use pliers or other unsuitable tools.
- Do not twist the regulator body after fitting. Tighten connections only when the system is completely depressurised.
- The regulator must not be installed in explosion protection zone 0.
Leak testing and use
- After every installation and every change to the system, check the connections for leaks, for example with leak detection spray or a leak tester.
- If bubbles form, tighten the connection. If it cannot be sealed, the regulator must not be used and has to be replaced.
- If you smell gas or find a leak, shut off the gas supply at once and remove any ignition sources.
- The regulator is not intended for operation while driving. For heating while driving you need a regulator with a crash sensor.
- It works only with the gas phase of LPG. The liquid phase must not reach the inlet.
- In Germany this regulator must not be used in closed rooms or in households.
- The manufacturer recommends replacing regulators, hoses and shut-off valves after 10 years of private use.

Pressure gauge connection
The regulator has a pressure gauge connection on the side of the body. It lets you connect a test gauge and check the pressure and tightness of the system downstream of the regulator without undoing the pipes. This makes first installation, the pre-season check and troubleshooting easier when gas appliances start to work less well.

Frequently asked questions
Can I screw this regulator directly onto a cylinder?
No. It has RVS 8 connections for 8 mm pipe on both sides and is fitted in the gas line or at a tank permanently installed in the vehicle.
Can I use it while driving?
No, operation while driving is outside the intended use of this regulator. Regulators with a crash sensor are made for heating while driving.
What is the PRV valve for?
It protects the appliances from excessive pressure on the outlet side. When the pressure rises, the valve releases the excess gas through the breather and closes by itself.
How do I check whether the flow rate is enough?
Add up the consumption of the appliances that may run at the same time. The regulator delivers 0.8 kg/h, i.e. 800 g/h. If the total is higher, choose a 1.5 kg/h model.
