Thetford Fresh-Up Set C220 - new 18 l cassette waste tank on wheels with pull handle and a new seat with cover for C223-S, C223-CS and C224-CW cassette toilets
- Thetford Fresh-Up Set for C220 series cassette toilets. The box contains a new 18 l waste-holding tank with wheels and a pull-out handle, plus a new white toilet seat with cover.
The Thetford Fresh-Up Set C220 renews a used C220 series cassette toilet in two steps. You replace the parts that wear most: the removable waste-holding tank and the seat with cover. The fixed part of the toilet with bowl, console and flush stays in the vehicle, so you do not have to remove anything from the wall or floor. The set contains a complete 18 l waste-holding tank with blade, rotating pour-out spout, wheels and pull-out handle, plus a white seat with cover. The set is also useful if your toilet works fine and you want a second tank for a longer trip or a stay without a dump station nearby.

What is in the box
- 1 complete 18 l waste-holding tank (cassette) for the C220 series
- blade, rotating pour-out spout with cap and vent button on the tank
- wheels and pull-out handle for moving the tank
- float level indicator
- 1 white toilet seat with cover for the C220 series
Which toilets it fits
- Thetford C223-S
- Thetford C223-CS
- Thetford C224-CW
- Thetford C222-SWE
- The set does not fit the C200, C250 and C260, C400 or C500 series. Thetford makes separate fresh-up sets for those series.
- You can check your toilet model on the data badge, which according to the manual is on the base of the toilet.
When to replace the tank and seat
The waste-holding tank is removed, carried and rinsed every time you empty it, so over time it gets scratched and discoloured and the blade seal wears. The seat and cover also lose their looks after a few seasons. Instead of buying a whole new toilet and changing the furniture, you replace just these two parts. After the swap the toilet looks and works like new, and the old cassette can stay as a spare if it is still tight.
How to replace the seat and cover
- Lift the seat and cover to an upright position.
- Push them to the right and lift them off the hinges.
- Fit the new seat and cover in reverse order: slide them onto the hinges and push them fully home.
How to replace the tank
- Make sure the blade in the bowl is closed.
- Open the service door on the outside of the vehicle and pull out the old tank.
- Slide the new tank fully into place and close the service door.
- Before first use, prepare the new tank the same way as after every emptying.
Preparing and emptying the new tank
Stand the tank upright, turn the spout upwards and remove the cap. Pour in the tank additive at the dose on the pack and about 2 to 3 l of water, refit the cap and slide the tank into the toilet. When the indicator changes from green to red, the tank is full. To empty it, take it out, extend the handle and pull it to the dump station like a suitcase. While pouring, hold the vent button down with your thumb, so the contents flow evenly without splashing. Rinse the tank with a few litres of water. Do not drive with the tank more than three quarters full.
Care
Do not clean the tank, seat or cover with household cleaners, as they can damage the plastic and seals. Lubricate the blade seal with Thetford seal spray, never with petroleum jelly. Use fast-dissolving paper in a cassette toilet, ordinary paper can block the tank.
