GOK gas leak tester type 4071 Marine, RVS 8 x RVS 8 with 2 hose adapters 8 mm - for boats and yachts
- GOK type 4071 leak tester from the Marine line for LPG systems on boats and yachts. Press the button and a leak shows as bubbles in the sight glass. Compression fittings RVS 8 x RVS 8 and 2 hose adapters 8 mm, max. 2 bar, pressure loss below 1 mbar.
The GOK type 4071 Marine is a leak tester installed permanently in the LPG system of a boat or yacht. Press the button and any leak in the system after the tester shows up as bubbles in the sight glass. This version has a straight outlet with 8 mm compression fittings (RVS 8) on both sides, coupling nut type M-MS and olive type D-MS. It comes with 2 hose adapters, pipe socket RST 8 x 8 mm hose nozzle. The housing is marked Alde Leak Detector 4071.

How it works
- quick leak check of the whole system after the tester at the press of a button
- a leak shows as bubbles in the sight glass
- the glycol mixture supplied allows testing also below 0°C
- maximum working pressure 2 bar, pressure loss below 1 mbar
- the manufacturer recommends testing every time the gas system is used and at every cylinder change
Connections and installation
- suitable for all low pressure LPG systems in marine applications
- 8 mm compression fitting (RVS 8) on both sides with coupling nut type M-MS and olive type D-MS
- the 2 hose adapters RST 8 x 8 mm nozzle let you connect the tester to a gas hose
- as close as possible to the regulator outlet, ideally in the gas cylinder locker; otherwise in a place protected from UV light and water
- always before any gas fittings or appliances, vertically with the sight glass visible, following the flow direction arrows
- fixing screws and reinforcing sleeves for copper tubes are included
How to test
- open the main valve on the gas cylinder
- switch off all gas appliances and wait about 60 seconds until the flame failure devices cut off the gas (a click can be heard)
- press and hold the red button at the bottom for at least 10 seconds, longer in large systems
- wait at least one minute for the first bubble; if the following bubbles come more than 10 seconds apart, the system can be deemed sound
- if the tester shows a leak, do not use the system; find the leak with soapy water or a leak detection spray
Topping up and checking the tester
- close the cylinder valve, unscrew the sight glass and fill to the top mark, then refit the sight glass and check the gasket
- after filling, do not turn the tester upside down as the liquid may run out
- after topping up, check the tester itself for leaks
- check the liquid level regularly
- function check: run an appliance with low gas consumption (e.g. the fridge) and press the button fully - bubbles mean the tester works

Questions and answers
How does this version differ from the motorhome tester?
The Marine version has a straight outlet with 8 mm compression fittings (RVS 8) on both sides and comes with 2 hose adapters 8 mm. GOK intends it for low pressure LPG systems on boats.
Can I connect it to a gas hose?
Yes. The RST 8 hose adapters go into the compression fittings of the tester, and an 8 mm gas hose fits over the nozzles.
When is the system considered sound?
Press the button for at least 10 seconds and wait one minute for the first bubble. If the following bubbles come more than 10 seconds apart, the manufacturer considers the system sound.
Does the tester work in winter?
Yes. The glycol mixture supplied allows leak testing also at temperatures below freezing.
What liquid should I use for topping up?
The instructions specify only the Alde leak detector fluid, part no. 4070125. Fill to the top mark on the sight glass.
