Reich Waste Water Pipe 28 x 1.5 mm, 2 m - Black Push-Fit Pipe for Grey Water Systems in Motorhomes and Caravans
- Reich waste water pipe 28 x 1.5 mm, 2 m long. You connect it to the system fittings by pushing, with no glue or screws. For grey water systems in motorhomes, caravans and camper vans.
The Reich waste water pipe 28 x 1.5 mm is the basic part of the push-fit grey water drain system. It is 2 m long and you cut it to the length you need on site. Together with couplings, elbows and hose adapters it lets you build a complete drain from the sink, washbasin or shower tray to the grey water tank of a motorhome, caravan or camper van.

Pipe for the 28 mm push-fit system
- outer diameter 28 mm, wall 1.5 mm
- 2 m long, easy to cut to size
- push-fit connection to the fittings, no glue, threads or welding
- tight joints as stated by the manufacturer
- works from -40 °C to +80 °C, also in winter
- black, impact resistant plastic
A rigid pipe keeps a steady fall along its whole length, so water does not stand in the line as easily as in a soft hose.
How the Reich push-fit system works
The Reich waste water system consists of black 28 x 1.5 mm pipes and fittings: couplings, elbows, T-pieces and hose adapters. All parts are joined by simply pushing them together. You need no glue, no threads and no welding tool, and the manufacturer states that the joints are fully tight. This lets you build the grey water installation of a motorhome or caravan with basic tools and later take it apart, extend it or change the route.
Rigid pipe or hose
A corrugated hose is easy to route, but over a long run it sags and forms dips where water and dirt collect. The rigid 28 mm pipe keeps its fall, does not collapse and is easier to fix to the wall or floor with clips. That is why it works well for the main run to the tank, while a flexible hose stays only where you really need it, for example at the trap. You connect the pipe to a hose with the Reich adapter for 19 mm or 25 mm hose.
How to cut the pipe
- Mark the length and remember the section that goes into the socket of the fitting.
- Cut square to the pipe axis, ideally with a pipe cutter or a fine-tooth saw.
- Remove burrs from the inner and outer edge so that the pipe slides smoothly into the socket without damaging it.
- Before assembly check that the pipe end is clean and dry.
Installation step by step
- Plan the route from the sink, washbasin or shower drain to the grey water tank.
- Cut the pipe square to its axis, ideally with a pipe cutter, and remove burrs from the edge.
- Push the pipe all the way into the socket of the fitting.
- Lay the pipes with a steady fall towards the tank so that water drains by gravity and does not stand in the lines.
- Fix the pipes to the wall or floor with clips so that the joints do not move while driving.
- After installation pour water into the drain and check every joint.
Typical uses
- grey water installations in motorhomes, caravans and camper vans
- drains from the sink, washbasin and shower tray to the grey water tank
- repair and rebuild of existing installations with 28 mm pipe
- DIY conversions where quick assembly without glue matters
Matching parts
- Reich coupling 28 mm - joins two pipe sections in a straight line
- Reich 45° elbow 28 mm - a gentle change of direction
- Reich 90° elbow 28 mm - a right-angle change of direction
- Reich adapter for 19 mm (3/4") hose - from 28 mm pipe to hose
- Reich adapter for 25 mm (1") hose - from 28 mm pipe to a larger hose

Frequently asked questions
Can I use this pipe for drinking water?
No. The Reich 28 x 1.5 mm pipe is designed for draining grey water. For drinking water choose pipes and fittings made for that purpose.
How do I join two pipe sections?
Use the Reich 28 mm coupling. You push both pipe ends all the way in, with no glue or sealant.
Can the pipe be cut?
Yes. Cut the pipe square with a pipe cutter or a fine-tooth saw and then remove burrs from the edge.
Will the pipe survive a winter stay?
The manufacturer gives an operating range from -40 °C to +80 °C. Still drain the system before frost, because freezing water can damage traps and the tank.
