Reich Coupling for 28 mm Waste Water Pipe - Push-Fit Connector for Grey Water Systems in Motorhomes and Caravans
- Reich coupling for 28 x 1.5 mm waste water pipes. Joins two pipe sections in a straight line by pushing them together, with no glue or screws. For grey water systems in motorhomes and caravans.
The Reich coupling is a straight connector for the push-fit 28 x 1.5 mm waste water pipe system. It joins two pipe sections in one line, so you need it wherever a standard 2 m pipe is too short or when you want to insert a new section into an existing grey water installation.

Connector for 28 mm pipes
- joins two Reich 28 x 1.5 mm pipes in a straight line
- push-fit assembly, no glue, threads or welding
- tight joint as stated by the manufacturer
- works from -40 °C to +80 °C
- black, impact resistant plastic
- outer diameter 32 mm, length 39 mm
The coupling is short, so it also fits into tight spaces under a kitchen cabinet or behind a shower tray.
How the Reich push-fit system works
The Reich waste water system consists of black 28 x 1.5 mm pipes and fittings: couplings, elbows, T-pieces and hose adapters. All parts are joined by simply pushing them together. You need no glue, no threads and no welding tool, and the manufacturer states that the joints are fully tight. This lets you build the grey water installation of a motorhome or caravan with basic tools and later take it apart, extend it or change the route.
When you need a coupling
You mainly use the coupling to extend a pipe. Reich pipes are 2 m long, and in a longer vehicle the drain from a rear bathroom to an underfloor tank often needs more. The coupling also helps with repairs: cut out the damaged part, insert a new pipe section and connect it to the rest of the installation with two couplings. In the same way you can add a T-piece or an elbow in the middle of an existing line.
Installation step by step
- Plan the route from the sink, washbasin or shower drain to the grey water tank.
- Cut the pipe square to its axis, ideally with a pipe cutter, and remove burrs from the edge.
- Push the pipe all the way into the socket of the fitting.
- Lay the pipes with a steady fall towards the tank so that water drains by gravity and does not stand in the lines.
- Fix the pipes to the wall or floor with clips so that the joints do not move while driving.
- After installation pour water into the drain and check every joint.
Typical uses
- grey water installations in motorhomes, caravans and camper vans
- drains from the sink, washbasin and shower tray to the grey water tank
- repair and rebuild of existing installations with 28 mm pipe
- DIY conversions where quick assembly without glue matters
Matching parts
- Reich waste water pipe 28 x 1.5 mm, 2 m - the base of the whole installation
- Reich 45° elbow 28 mm - a gentle change of direction
- Reich 90° elbow 28 mm - a right-angle change of direction
- Reich adapter for 19 mm (3/4") hose - from 28 mm pipe to hose
- Reich adapter for 25 mm (1") hose - from 28 mm pipe to a larger hose

Frequently asked questions
How many couplings do I need to extend a pipe?
One coupling is enough to join two pipe sections. For a repair, when you insert a new section in the middle of the installation, you need two.
Can I use this fitting for drinking water?
No. The Reich 28 mm parts are designed for draining grey water. For a drinking water installation choose pipes and fittings made for drinking water.
Do the joints need glue or sealant?
No. You push the pipe all the way into the socket. The manufacturer states that the joint is fully tight without glue or tape.
Does it fit other 28 mm pipes?
The fitting is designed for Reich 28 x 1.5 mm pipes. With pipes from another brand tightness is not guaranteed, so it is best to use parts from one system.
