Reich 45° Elbow for 28 mm Waste Water Pipe - Push-Fit Fitting for Grey Water Systems in Motorhomes and Caravans
- Reich 45° elbow for 28 x 1.5 mm waste water pipes. It gently changes the direction of the grey water drain and is fitted by pushing, with no glue or screws. For motorhomes and caravans.
The Reich 45° elbow is a fitting for the push-fit 28 x 1.5 mm waste water pipe system. It turns the pipe by 45 degrees, so you can get round an obstacle, drop down from a drain or route the grey water installation in a gentle curve. Two 45° elbows joined together give a 90° bend with a larger radius.

A gentle change of direction
- turns the pipe by 45°
- for Reich 28 x 1.5 mm pipes
- push-fit assembly, no glue, threads or welding
- tight joint as stated by the manufacturer
- works from -40 °C to +80 °C
- black, impact resistant plastic
The gentle curve helps water flow freely, so the 45° elbow works well right below a drain.
How the Reich push-fit system works
The Reich waste water system consists of black 28 x 1.5 mm pipes and fittings: couplings, elbows, T-pieces and hose adapters. All parts are joined by simply pushing them together. You need no glue, no threads and no welding tool, and the manufacturer states that the joints are fully tight. This lets you build the grey water installation of a motorhome or caravan with basic tools and later take it apart, extend it or change the route.
Why a 45° elbow instead of 90°
Grey water carries food scraps, hair and soap. Such dirt gets stuck less often on gentle curves than on a sharp bend. The 45° elbow is useful when the pipe has to shift slightly to the side, pass over a floor profile or run down at an angle towards the tank. When you need a full turn and have the space, you can join two 45° elbows instead of one 90° elbow.
Installation step by step
- Plan the route from the sink, washbasin or shower drain to the grey water tank.
- Cut the pipe square to its axis, ideally with a pipe cutter, and remove burrs from the edge.
- Push the pipe all the way into the socket of the fitting.
- Lay the pipes with a steady fall towards the tank so that water drains by gravity and does not stand in the lines.
- Fix the pipes to the wall or floor with clips so that the joints do not move while driving.
- After installation pour water into the drain and check every joint.
Typical uses
- grey water installations in motorhomes, caravans and camper vans
- drains from the sink, washbasin and shower tray to the grey water tank
- repair and rebuild of existing installations with 28 mm pipe
- DIY conversions where quick assembly without glue matters

Frequently asked questions
Is this elbow suitable for drinking water?
No. It is a fitting for draining grey water in the Reich 28 mm system and is not part of a drinking water installation.
How do I get a 90° bend with a large radius?
Join two 45° elbows, directly or with a short piece of pipe. The bend takes more space, but water flows through it more gently.
Do the joints need glue or sealant?
No. You push the pipe all the way into the socket. The manufacturer states that the joint is fully tight without glue or tape.
Does it fit other 28 mm pipes?
The fitting is designed for Reich 28 x 1.5 mm pipes. With pipes from another brand tightness is not guaranteed, so it is best to use parts from one system.
